How to make air fryer sesame chicken

Step 1: Preheat air fryer and prep chicken

Preheat air fryer. Cut the raw chicken into 24 equally sized bite-size pieces.

Step 2: add ingredients to small bowls

Using 3 separate bowls, add eggs and scramble to one shallow bowl. Add cassava to a separate small bowl. Add panko breadcrumbs to a third separate bowl. Add salt and pepper to panko and mix together.

Step 3: coat chicken

Dip chicken pieces into cassava flour mixture and coat well. Transfer to the beaten eggs mixture and coat thoroughly. Finally, transfer to the panko bread crumbs and evenly coat the outside.

Step 4: air fry chicken

Set coated pieces of chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer and repeat until the air fryer is full. You will need to do this in batches so the chicken does not touch or overlap in the air fryer. Air fry at 350 for 10 mins. Cooking time will vary depending on the size of your air fryer.

Step 4: make sauce

Mix all sauce ingredients in a separate bowl and set aside while you cook the chicken in batches.

Step 5: coat in sauce and serve

Once the chicken is done, add it to a bowl and top with the sauce. Mix together well to coat evenly. Top chicken with sliced green onions and serve with rice, cauliflower rice or as is.

What to serve with your sesame chicken

Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds to the top of the chicken, of desired.

Serve with white rice, brown rice, cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles or steamed vegetables.

How to store your sesame chicken

Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer to bring it back to the perfect crispiness.
