Can you freeze this chili?

Definitely. I like using Souper Cubes to freeze soups and stews. They make is really easy to freeze this macro friendly chili in single serve portions. Use code: OHSNAPMACROS10 to get 10% off your first order of Souper Cubes.

What toppings do you put on chili?

We like to use Greek yogurt our sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, red onion and Sweet Heat Jalapenos. You could also add avocado or even put some corn bread directly into the macro friendly chili and mash it all up! It is delicious with or without toppings.

Two bowls of macro friendly chili.

Do you have to use a Instant Pot?

No! You can make this stove top as well. Simply brown your meat directly in the pan, add all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Once the macro friendly chili is boiling, reduce to a simmer, cover and let simmer for 30 minutes. Be careful not to over simmer as you will loose liquid.

You can also make this in the crockpot. Using the same method as above place the lid o the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 2 to 3. Again, be careful not to over cook and loose liquid.

Ground Turkey and Ground Beef: this recipe calls for a pound of lean ground turkey and ground beef. You can substitute with any ground meet like ground chicken or all turkey.

Fire Roasted Tomatoes: a lot of delicious flavor comes from the fire roasted tomatoes. I would only suggest substituting out one can with regular. I have also made this recipe with different flavored diced tomatoes and had great results. Sweet onions and garlic was great.

Green Chilis: you can use green chilis or chopped jalapenos for added spice.

Chili Beans: we love adding beans to our chili and the BUSH’S BEST Mixed Beans in a Mild Chili Sauce. You can substitute with other brands but I have found this one adds the best flavors.

This is the BEST chili! The peppers really help jazz it up and give it lots of flavor. This is the only chili recipe I make! I substituted ground turkey for Italian sausage – delicious!
Add this to your list to try! You’re missing out!

This chili recipe is fantastic!!! We have it on repeat! One question- When I measure the total grams and divide by 10 for servings, my grams/serving are quite a bit less than yours. The only thing I did differently was I cooked it on the stovetop. Normal to get different serving sizes?

    1. Yay!! Very common! This is exactly why I stress weighing your final dish and dividing it by servings for the serving size. There are so many factors but this likely just means you evaporated more liquid than I did especially with using the stovetop. 🙂 Glad you loved it!

  3. Second recipe of yours I have tried. This is the best chili I have ever made. So full of flavour! Loved that I could do it in my instant pot. I am definitely going to be trying more of your recipes. Have loved the two I have tried so far!

Absolutely delicious! I have one chili recipe that I swore I’d never deviate from but it’s cold and snowy/rainy and figured I’d give this one a try because it was macro friendly and perfect weather for chili, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Super easy and so flavorful even my 5.5 and 7 year olds loved it!

This is my new go-to chili recipe. It’s so good and so easy. I appreciate how it has the perfect amount of beans and veggies. Thanks again for keeping us warm as it gets cooler!

  7. Absolutely amazing! I was a little hesitant at first but it turned out so good. Even my husband who hates vegetables loved it. It made a huge batch so we saved some for leftovers and put the remainder in the freezer for another time. Also I made it in a Dutch oven and it turned out perfect.

  8. This chili is my first oh snap macros recipe to try. It was delicious. The whole family enjoyed it which is a huge win in my book.

Let me tell you what… this recipe is exactly what chili is supposed to taste like. Grandma’s chili is hard to beat but this chili did it. (Shhh.. don’t tell her.) Thank you for creating such a yummy/easy recipe!
