These air fryer chicken sausages are crispy, delicious and incredibly easy. They require no prep work, no cooking, and no cleaning. Are you sold yet?

Because we’re using pre-cooked sausages, they’re ready in about 10 minutes. All you do is add them to the air fryer, flip and wait until you have that perfect crispy skin. 

Chicken sausage are one of my favorite things when I’m in a hurry but want something flavorful to add to my plate and because there are so many flavors, they work for any meal of the day. Add them to breakfast burrito bowls, cajun shrimp and sausage pasta, or simply dip them in mustard for a midday snack.ย

How to make the best chicken sausage in the air fryer (a visual step-by-step guide):

Step 1: remove the packaging and cook

Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. For even cooking, flip and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Cooking time will vary depending on the brand and thickness of the sausages.

Expert Tip!

For meal prep purposes, I like to cook one dinner/lunch flavored and one breakfast flavored package at the same time to use throughout the week.

How should I store leftover sausages?

I suggest only cooking what you’ll eat, but you can always reheat them in the air fryer if you make to many. They’ll last about 3 days in the fridge.

What to serve air fried chicken sausages with?

Add sautรฉed bell peppers for a sausage and peppers dish. Cut up an apple sausage and serve on top of a salad. Serve as a quick appetizer with a side of mustard or bbq sauce. Serve over pasta dishes. Serve whole with a side of broccoli florets, cauliflower rice or green beans.
