Absolutely! Using the same ingredients and instructions as provided for the air fryer teriyaki salmon, place the salmon on a foil lined baking sheet and place in a pre heated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 10-20 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork or reads 145 degrees Fahrenheit with a meat thermometer.ย

Homemade teriyaki sauce vs. store bought

Whisk in a bowl of teriyaki sauce.

You can absolutely use your favorite store bought teriyaki sauce for this air fryer teriyaki salmon recipe but making this sauce at home really couldn’t get any easier than this recipe and it’s also sugar free which most store bought sauces are not.

What to look for when buying store bought salmon

Salmon filets on aluminum foil.

We never buy salmon as it is readily available every summer for us here in Alaska to catch ourselves. We go out ever year with the goal to stock the freezer for the upcoming year. Some things to note when youโ€™re buying salmon in the store for this air fryer teriyaki salmon recipe: โ€œlook for salmon that appears moist rather than dried out, avoid salmon with any browned spots on the belly, around the edges of the fillet, or instances where the skin has started browning and curling up.โ€ Here is a great article with more information: “How to Buy Salmon at the Grocery Store Like a Pro.

What air fryer do you use?

I have the COSORI Air Fryer Oven Combo 5.8QT Max XL Large Cooker, linked here. I do find it is pretty loud in the kitchen but it gets the job done and makes perfect air fryer teriyaki salmon. We have had it for years without any issues.

How to make air fryer teriyaki salmon:

Step 1

Preheat your air fryer.

Step 2

While the air fryer heats, prep your salmon filets by patting dry and cutting into serving sizes as desired. For this recipe I am cutting into 4 – 4 oz. filets. Place the filets skin side up, flesh side down, in a dish to marinate.

Step 3

Whisk all the teriyaki sauce ingredients, except the arrowroot powder, in a bowl. Pour half the sauce on top of the salmon and marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Line the air fryer pan with foil, drizzle with olive oil or non stick spray so they fish does not stick to the bottom.

Step 4

Air fry the filets at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes. When the salmon easily flakes with a fork or the internal temperature reads 145 degrees Fahrenheit with a meat thermometer the salmon is done. The time will vary depending on your air fryer and thickness of filets.

Step 5

While the fish is cooking in the air fryer pour the remaining sauce to a sauce pan and heat. Add 1/2 tsp. of arrowroot powder and stir well to thicken. Add additional 1/2 tsp. as needed to thicken into a sticky teriyaki sauce.

Step 6

Remove the fish from the air fryer, top with sauce, chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds and enjoy your easy air fryer teriyaki salmon.

Notes

  • Always try to find fresh salmon as opposed to farm.
  • Fresh salmon should be light pink. Never choose salmon that is grey, dull or brown.ย

  1. Looks great! Can ground ginger be use in place of the fresh, minced ginger? And if so, would it also be 1/2 tbs? Thank you :]
