Salmon Foil Packets – dinner made easy
Salmon foil packs are the easiest way to bake salmon. Almost as easy as my air fryer salmon.
Made with slices of potato, broccoli and wild salmon filets, this is a complete meal in one foil-pack dinner. Written for one single serving this is easily doubled and quadrupled for a crowd.
The simple flavor of red chili sauce and coconut aminos makes a delicious sweet and salty glaze that complements the flaky salmon. I bake mine in the oven and broil the last few minutes. This makes the glaze crunchy and crispy and really takes the fish up a notch.

How and why to pick salmon!
Salmon is great for you, sustainable, and delicious, and it’s easily one of my favorite fish. It’s delicious air-fried and blackened, in teriyaki salmon bowls or even in cajun pasta. It’s not only packed with vitamins and minerals thought to help with heart health, inflammation, and even memory loss. Some nutritional benefits:
- Great source of protein
- Rich in omega-3 fatty acids which help build and maintain a healthy body
- High in B vitamins
- Good source of potassium
- Wild-caught salmon is a great source of important minerals: iodine, calcium, copper, iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, and sodium.
- Delicious, versatile and depending on where you live readily available to catch yourself!
You don’t have to be a fishmonger to know good fish! When it comes to purchasing salmon from the grocery store you’ll see a variety of options. Fresh or frozen doesn’t matter as there are awesome options for both. Costco has amazing frozen options and always sources the best quality.

Potato – any type of potato will work for this recipe.
Broccoli
Coconut Aminos – or soy sauce
Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce
Variations and Substitutions
- Use green beans or asparagus.
- Add minced garlic, fresh herbs or lemon slices on the piece of salmon prior to baking.
How to make salmon foil packs
Step 1: preheat and prep
Preheat oven to 400 F. Lay aluminum foil out on a baking sheet.
Thinly slice potatoes. You can use a mandolin here to ensure they are thin enough. Chop broccoli into small pieces.
Step 2: assemble foil wrap
Lay potatoes in the center of the foil. Top potatoes with salmon filet and surround the salmon with broccoli. Pour coconut aminos (or soy sauce) on top of the salmon and drizzle the Sweet and spicy Soy Chili Sauce directly on top.
Step 3: tent and bake
Tent with a second piece of foil and secure edges to close the pack up tightly. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes until the salmon is fully cooked. If your salmon filets do not easily flake with a fork when you remove them from the oven place them back in the oven for another 3-5 minutes until the meat easily flakes with a fork.
Serving and storing info
Serve your easy salmon foil packets with a little lemon juice prior to eating or a herb butter, on the side. Store any leftover salmon packs in the fridge in an airtight container for up to three days.

Ingredients
- 4 oz. fillet of salmon raw
- 1/2 small potato very thinly sliced, 100g
- 1 cup broccoli chopped, 100g
- 1 Tbsp. coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
- 1 Tbsp. sweet and spicy soy chili sauce
Instructions
- Pre heat oven to 400 F. Lay foil out on a baking sheet.

- Unwrap and enjoy! We eat it directly out of the pack.
Notes

- Recipe is for one salmon pack but you can make multiple and bake at the same time.
- Always choose fresh salmon when available. It should be bright pink. Never choose salmon that is dull or grey.
