Air Fryer Pizza Bagels

Pizza night is here! These little pizzas are an easy snack, school lunch, or quick weeknight dinner. The great thing about this simple recipe is it’s exactly like the popular frozen pizza bagels but way higher in protein. For one air fryer pizza bagel, you’re looking at 62 calories with 5g of protein and made with only 6 simple pantry staples. Local grocery store brands are 53 calories with 2g of protein per bagel with a long list of ingredients.

How to make homemade pizza bagels without an air fryer

I have a Corsi air fryer and love it but you can also bake your mini pizza bagels. Follow the same instructions and bake the uncooked bagels at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Slice and top with your desired toppings and place them back in the oven to melt the cheese and crisp the pepperoni for 2-3 minutes. Whether you air fry or bake, always keep an eye on your bagels to avoid burning.

Can I make these gluten and dairy-free?

Use gluten-free flour to make your pizza bagels gluten-free. To make dairy-free, swap out the Greek yogurt and mozzarella cheese for a non-dairy alternative.

How to make air fryer pizza bagels:

Air fryer pizza bagels, one of which is missing a bite.

Step 1: Prep the bagel dough

Preheat the air fryer. In a medium bowl, combine the greek yogurt, flour and salt until fully combined.

Step 2: Make bagels

Once combined, place on a floured surface and cut into 5 equally sized balls (35 grams each). Coat your fingers in flour, it helps to keep the dough from sticking to your hands. Roll into small balls and using your finger push a hole through the center and gently pull to create bagels. Alternatively, you can roll each one into a strip and curl it around connecting the ends to create a bagel. I like to have a small hole in the center so that the sauce doesn’t fall through when cooking.

Step 3: Egg wash the bagels

Using a brush, top the bagels with the egg whites wash, and sprinkle with salt.

Step 4: Add to air fryer

Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray and place the bagels in a single layer in the basket. Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes until browned.

Step 5: Remove and assemble pizzas

Remove from the air fryer and slice in half like a standard bagel. Top each half with ½ Tbsp. marinara sauce, 7g mozzarella cheese, and 2 chopped turkey pepperoni slices. Repeat with each remaining bagel half.

Step 6: Melt the cheese

Place the mini bagels back in the air fryer and cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Optional Toppings

Add your favorite goodies to these homemade bagel pizzas. I suggest black olives, red pepper flakes, fresh basil, mini pepperonis, favorite veggies or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Add toppings after adding cheese and before placing in the air fryer the second time. Try mini bbq chicken pizzas, Hawaiian mini pizzas, or a white sauce pizza to change it up.

What to serve your air fryer pizza bagels with

Serve these fun little air fryer pizza bagels with a side of fruit, a favorite side dish or a green salad like my Farro Summer Salad. They’re great for meal prep containers and reheat well in the microwave. These delicious pizzas go with just about anything.

Recipe Tips

  • Working with 2 ingredients dough can be a sticky mess. For best results, coat your hands in flour to create a barrier to make forming the dough into little bagels much easier.
  • Chop your pepperoni into small squares for that authentic frozen pizza bagel feel.
  • Double the batch for mini bagels with cream cheese all week long!

Storing and serving notes

Store your air fryer bagel pizzas in an airtight container. When reheating, place back in the air fryer or on a baking sheet to crisp them up in the oven or just in the microwave. If you are using these for school lunches, they are just as good cold.

A spin on a favorite of mine! But healthier and just as yummy. I’m normally turned away from anything you make from scratch, but this was pretty easy. And the macros are so much better than the other option!
