Homemade cajun seasoning mix

If you love Cajun recipes like Easy Cajun Steak Bites and Cajun Pasta, this homemade cajun spice mix is next-level amazing. With 7 common spices you likely already have in your spice cabinet, you’ll make a bold seasoning with a little kick that will knock your socks off. I make double or triple the batch, store it in a mason jar, and use it in one of my favorite Cajun recipes, Cajun Meatball Stew.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Bold flavor common in Cajun cooking.
  • Use for everything!
  • No additives, sugars or preservatives.

Why your own spice blends are superior

Peace out grocery store, you’ll never need to peruse the spice isle after trying this Cajun spice blend. Store-bought spices are filled with excess sodium, fillers, preservatives, and even sugar. Homemade seasonings have none of that added stuff you can’t pronounce and all of the flavor.

The best part, when you make your own seasonings, you have complete control of what goes into them. If you want it extra spicy, add a little bit more cayenne. For those less spicy, add less cayenne or none at all (although it’s meant to be at least a LITTLE spicy). This is your Cajun spice blend, make it how you love it.

How to use your homemade Cajun seasoning

The recipe as written makes 9 Tbsp. of seasoning.

Add to cajun salmon like in my Cajun Salmon Pasta, in soups and stews like, Cajun Meatball Stew, or on meats like Cajun Steak Bites. Sometimes, I cut up chicken, onions, and bell peppers, add the seasoning, and make cajun fajita burritos. It goes well on absolutely everything and is the best way to make simple foods, totally amazing.
