Fridays are usually family movie and pizza night at our house. Sometimes we give pizza a twist like my Thai curry pizza, Big Mac pita pizza or pizza Mac and cheese. Sometimes we go full kid mode and do air fryer pizza bagels.

More often than not we do air fryer tortilla pizzas because everyone gets to pick their toppings and it’s a quick and easy way to get dinner on the table.

Whether it’s the traditional pepperoni pizza or a more gourmet flare with peaches and prosciutto you can customize these easy tortilla pizzas to be whatever pizza craving you’re having using your favorite pizza toppings. The best part is all is the use of simple ingredients.

What kind of tortillas should you use for easy air fryer tortilla pizza?

Flour! Corn tortillas will get extra crispy .. think tostadas lol. You’ll want to use flour tortillas for this air fryer pizza recipe, you can use any store-bought tortilla you prefer. Flour is best though for these tortilla pizzas and they will crisp up well while still staying soft for a traditional pizza taste. I prefer using carb-balance tortillas like Mission Carb Balance Low Carb Tortillas, but you can use your favorite. Another GREAT option for this is the new Counter Protein Tortilla wrap tortillas. They’re huge, thick, easy on the macros, and crisp up really well in the air fryer.

I love my air fryer!

I have had the Cosori air fryer since prime day 2020 and it is still trucking along great. I use this air fryer for everything! Some of my favorite air fryer recipes are Air Fryer Blackened Chicken and Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos. It fits an 8-inch tortilla perfectly in the air fryer basket to make this 5-minute air fryer tortilla pizza such an easy recipe.

Ingredients and substitutions:

These are the main ingredients and substitutions for the three pizzas pictured. See recipe card below for full ingredients list and instructions for your air fryer tortillas pizza.

Tortillas, sauce, cheese, and pizza toppings on a plate.
  • Flour Tortillas: any store-bought tortillas will work for this as long as they fit in your air fryer basket. I use 8-inch tortillas. You can use carb balance, low-carb tortillas, regular tortillas, Counter tortillas but stick with flour so you have a crispy tortilla crust and not a tostada.
  • Sauce: I love them all. For traditional red sauce pizza use tomato sauce, pizza sauce, marinara sauce or even pasta sauce. My favorite is Rao’s Tomato Basil with its clean ingredients and great flavor. I also use bbq sauce, ranch dressing, and my oil-free pesto
  • Mozzarella cheese: I use part-skim low-moisture mozzarella cheese. My local grocery store sells a family-size pack which we go through quickly. Use your favorite for an extra cheesy pizza.
  • Toppings: here you’ll find a pepperoni pizza using turkey pepperoni slices, a supreme with the addition of bell pepper, onions, and olives, and a seasonal pesto peach and prosciutto with show-stopping hot honey.
  • Fresh fruits and veggies: add thinly sliced peaches or fresh arugula for seasonal pizzas.
  • Seasonings: you can add Italian seasoning, basil, garlic powder and red pepper flakes.
  • Dipping: I am a pizza with ranch person, you? Bolthouse Farms makes an awesome yogurt ranch. Or you can check out my Buffalo Ranch Chicken Salad for a perfect buffalo ranch and plain ranch recipe.

Topping ideas ..

  • When it comes to sauce I use either pizza sauce, marinara sauce, tomato basil sauce, pesto, ranch dressing, barbeque sauce, alfredo sauce you name it. I love it all.
  • Traditional cheese, of course, is my girls favorite! Use pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • For traditional pepperoni, you can use turkey pepperoni to lower the fat content or regular.
  • If you have fresh basil on hand make a Margherita Pizza using pizza sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil and Italian seasoning.
  • Fresh in-season fruit like peaches! Pesto, mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, sliced peaches and hot honey is my go-to.
  • Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes are a must for me!

Want to make this in the oven?

Just add the tortilla to a baking sheet, add your toppings, and place it in the oven for 5-7 minutes until melted and crispy. You can also make this in the toaster oven as well.
